This choice: Ariel is not turned human but lives on land with Eric • Go Back...Chapter #6Ariel is not turned human but lives on land wit... by: mermaidatnight   The sun had risen, marking the day after the defeat of the temporary Queen of the seas, Ursula. Eric, who vanquished the octopus humanoid creature, lay unconscious in the sand from the events of the day before, but he did not magically teleport onto dry land. He was rescued and brought there a second time by the mute girl who stayed at his castle for last 3 days. Only this time, she looked entirely different from the waist down. Ariel who was perched on top of a rock out at sea would not stop watching the prince since putting him there. She was close and desperately wanted to be with him, but due to her lack of human legs, she figured it was probably best to keep her distance and stay as a mermaid in the sea. Her desire to become human had put him and the entire ocean in terrible danger after all.
Eric stirred, indicating he was waking up and Ariel could not be any more happier to see this. "Eric..." She called but it was too weak to be heard over the crashing waves. Eric lifted his head and the first thing he noticed was a blurry young woman on the rock. A moment later, she recognised the long red hair. "A...Ariel?" He groaned, then he smiled. "Ariel, you're here! Please come..." He was stopped as Ariel dived off the rock but was relieved as she was swimming toward the shore so he got up and moved to the water in a hurry. When they were close enough, Eric knelt down and they both hugged each other. A long, passionate kiss followed.
When they broke the kiss, Eric was the first to speak. "I'm so glad you're alright Ariel. I have so many questions about what happened last night, but what about...this?" he gestured toward her long fish tail.
"I'm so sorry Eric. I was born a mermaid but I really wanted to become human and live on land like you, so I was transformed temporarily by Ursula, the creature you defeated. I'm...I'm so sorry!" Ariel felt what happened was entirely her fault so she turns about to enter the sea with tears about to fall down her cheek. Eric caught her shoulder in time, stopping Ariel.
"You want to live with me huh? I mean, a mermaid at the castle wouldn't be the worst thing, right?" He thinks for a moment. "Just how long can you be out the water?"
"Really?" Ariel was delighted. Her hopes to live on land seemed to become a reality. "I will need to be in sea water every now and then, but I am half human so I can be out the water for a while"
"Excellent, we can try this out for a day, but tell me if you want to come back to the sea if you don't like it. I'll have the guards to bring you here right away, stay here" Eric kissed his lover once more before racing toward the castle.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
