They had done a number of
things within the nurses limits
to do and possibly a couple
questionable things too.
They took Emily’s temperature.
They took her pulse and blood pressure.
They examined her physically.
The nurse had her pee in a cup.
They took her height and weight
3x just to be sure.
There was no denying the
2 most obvious things amiss
as they had hushed discussion
then they noticed Emily fidgeting
again.
The exams had taken nearly an
hour but then she spoke.
“I feel weird again
Like before”
The pair of adults was about
to question what Emily meant
when the girl actually appeared
to be getting bigger?
Her trim tummy started to peek
out from under her shirt a little.
It lasted about a minute or so
but Emily had visibly enlarged
right in front of them having
gained another 18 inches
the child was now slightly taller
than some teens and adults.
“Oh my god she grew
She actually grew!
Nancy call the girls parents
when you call this Paul boys too”
Finally Emily had confirmation
from the adults like an epiphany.
“I-I grew? You’re saying
I’m growing like a grown up now”
Emily processed this as the
nurse spoke.
“Well somehow yes and
our concern is how? Why?
And worse if you keep growing.
No offense but this could become
a problem for you, for us and
for others too”
Nancy was unsure how the child
would react much less if she
understood at her age.
“At any rate we should tell your
family and you might want to
be careful seeing as this is
all new for you and uncharted
territory for the rest of us”
