Chapter #4

Fight with consequences

It should be noted that Emily was
both short for her age and the
shortest kid at her preschool.


Also Emily’s school had a bratty
bully named Paul who was
nearly old enough to switch from
Preschool to a kindergarten class at
a normal school and also on tall
side.


A recipe for choas and disaster
would brew at recess as
Paul sees Emily’s new “toy” and
snatches it.


Paul thinking it’s also a toy
zaps a police car parked in
front of the school while no one
but he and Emily were looking.
A bright multi color beam of light
fires
and the car shrinks occupants and
all to the size of a matchbox car.



Paul grins evilly putting
2 and 2 together and switches
1 of the guns settings to the
arrow pointing up instead of down.


Fearing what he might have in
mind but also desperate to get
back the thing her parents
entrusted her with
Emily rushed over to
Paul and the pair actually
began to struggle for the gun.


In the tug of war
Paul had accidentally bumped
3 other settings no one had
noticed yet.

2 buttons labeled “R”
Had been pressed in
and a button with a symbol
few if any kids would recognize
∞ ∞

It would later become known
Those buttons were

“Repeat”
“Random”
and “infinite”

The potentially worse combination
Of buttons if left unchecked and
the 2 kids were fighting over
the device unaware that
someone or something depending
what happens next could
end up randomly growing or
shrinking in spurts.



Suddenly hands slip
and the beam fires off again
____

This time the effects aren’t immediately
noticeable as the device
flies through the air and busts to
pieces on the pavement
