"Oh.. ok" you thought it could have been a lot worse. Even if Jacinta has made some indirect and some other not really indirect approaches to show her romantic interest on you, the truth is she's a good coworker that you could cooperate with. You couldn't imagine having to work next to someone like Denise or other women that hated you thanks to her lies, that would be hell.
Seeing you had no complaints Kim just nodded and changed topics to discuss the progress on your work, and after that you moved your things to your new desk. Jacinta was already settled there, and greeted you with a warm smile on her face.
You started to organize your stuff and Jacinta offered to help, which you rejected politely. While you put everything in your new desk the way you liked it you entertained yourself casting a couple of glances at your new desk buddy while she focused on her computer. She had a lovely face complexion with her natural blond hair, and with her clear eyes and expressive smile she naturally seemed to radiate a pleasant and warm nature.
As one of the older employees at the company she dressed more conservatively and kept things simple, with a white blouse, the standard 2 piece black suit and high heels to match. She would probably have teased you if you checked her out like that, but from your position as you sorted out all your stuff it was easy to steal a couple of glances without being noticed
You weren't sure what it was that put you off about Jacinta. From what you could see she was a nice, attractive woman that you enjoyed spending time with as a coworker. Maybe it was her kinda passive personality, or how she made a bit too obvious she was interested in you, or your reluctance to mix personal and professional life even if your love life was nothing to write about, the fact is something was missing to get you actually interested.
You finished and took an active pause to stretch
"Seems you're finally done, welcome to your new desk" Jacinta commented
"I am, hey I'm going for coffee. Do you want one too?"
"Sure, thank you!" Jacinta gave you a big smile as you took a well deserved active pause
Back at your desk Jacinta thanked you again and you went back to focus on your tasks for the day, although a couple of times you noticed Jacinta looking at you as if she wanted to ask you something. You hoped things didn't become uncomfortable between you, despite rejecting her in the past you never definitely shot her down and she never gave up on trying.
