Chapter #8

Loaded off the ship and to the Guild

The next morning you wake up at the sound of footsteps. You feign in horror as Captain Crossblade and his men enter the Exotic Room.

"Listen up. Today we'll be selling a few of you at the Adventurer's Guild. If none of you are sold then we'll return you to the Exotic Room." Captain Crossblade said as he twirled his red mustache.

You gulp nervously as a pirate approaches you.

"Looks like you have the privileged of being sold. Mermen usually sell for a higher price."

You and several mermaids are led off the ship. You struggle to walk on your feet since you have never been out of the ocean before, but try to make sure that you don't trip. As you leave you spot an unconscious girl laying on the beach. She didn't have any clothes on. You notice that she regains consciousness. It was none other than Erin. You are then shoved forward by a pirate.

"Keep walking boy."

You sigh as you continue forward. You barely notice the tall human woman who ran by. She sounded pretty upset, but there was nothing you could do. After a ten minute walk you arrive at the Adventurer's Guild. Once there you see a woman arguing with the owner.

"No women allowed!"

"Come on! I was told by my client that I could find Mermaid Tears here!"

"Still can't let you in. The only women allowed are performers and servants."

You see the woman trying to flirt with the owner. The owner then puts his sword up to her neck. You then see a charismatic man talk to the woman and owner. As you enter inside you see the man and woman leave. Whatever was going on you had your suspicions that this guild was a cover for a black market. It doesn't take long for you and the mermaids to be prepared to be sold. You then see a man who is dressed as an official. You gulp as he begins to speak.

"Greetings fellow rogues, assassins, and the like. I Lord Meldrum have exciting news. We'll kick off today's special event with a special offer. Today we'll start by selling this young merman. You can do whatever you want with him. You can even make this adolescent cry. His tears are just as valuable as the rest of his kin. The highest bidder gets to have him. The starting price for this lad is 2000 gold."

You then start sweating as the house of rogues, pirates, assassins, and other scum start making offers to buy you. The whole world seemed to stand still when...
