Today is a special day, however, for today is the start of your annual specimen hunt! Since the start of your career as a Pokemon scientist, you have taken regular trips into the countless regions of the world to obtain rare creatures for your research. Just last year you recovered an interesting Pokemon named Vanillite during your travel in the Unova region and found that your pet Lickitung could consume by licking, just like a real ice cream cone.
This year, you are headed to the Alola islands. As a region, it is rather undeveloped compared to your homeland of Vorre; from what you have heard, most of the islands and towns do not have access to your reformation technology! Only the main cities seem to have adopted the live-saving measures. Not surprising for a region that established its own Pokemon league only a year before.
Right now, you are on a small motorboat headed for Melemele Island. The sun sits over-head, baking your already darkened skin. On the boat are only three people: You, the Captain, and your dear assistant. As an establish scientist you have an army of grunts to take care of your busywork and as is tradition you have invited your hardest working one to come along with you as a sort of vacation.
