The server leads Od onto a barren hill and leav...

The server leads Od onto a barren hill and leaves him there, lost and confused. But not defeated. Od knows if he can find his way to the child's great granna who knows all the old ways, he can solve the problem or at least get a better idea of what is happening.

The hill is steep, except for the very top where Od is left; that part of the hill is almost flattened out, like the Gods themselves sat on the hill when they were weary of creating everything. Od can see for miles around and can see smoke curling out of the woods far below. He takes off the rope tied around his eyes so he couldn't see on the way to the hill and stretches his limbs.

Od observes the lack of bird sound, even the cruotheo are not making their usual cacophony. His head aches from thinking so much. He wishes he hadn't drank so much in the chamber. Od tries to take a step off the steep cliff of the hill, but his foot slips in the chalky soils so he backs up and sits down.

Straight ahead he sees something little and black with pointy ears and bright black eyes staring at him. The creature's ears then flatten, and a low growl emanates from the creature's chest. It starts to take a step toward Od.
