Hannah slid from her horse, took the reins and walked nearer so she could hear the strange language.
Her horse followed her closely and stopped when she stopped.
The first ancient woman was speaking in the House Lannister language. Hannah knew a few words of Lannisterish and flinched when she heard them. "War" "Witch" and "Magic" were the words but she wondered how they fit into the conversation and the future of the Realm. The woman handed the Lannister spy two candles. Hanna wondered what kind of magic were represented by the candles; surely they were magical because he could have purchased any of many varieties of candles back in the village.
The second ancient woman spoke in a language which Hannah understood, however she spoke in low tones with an unusual accent so her full message to the spy was incomplete. Hannah heard her say, "A uniquely unusual army has armed itself and is marching toward the river." The remainder of the message, where, when, for what reason, and such, just wasn't spoken loud enough for Hannah. She gasped, "Huh?" The ancient woman wearing a royal purple cape, handed the Lannister spy a small kitten. Hannah wondered what the kitten was about? Did it have some ability such as speaking or performing magic? Would it become an aggressive fighter for the Lannister people? Was it of a religious origin with the ability to hear the secrets of the Lannister enemies, like Hannah's people? What an unusual item to hand to a strong man on a horse?
The third ancient woman spoke clearly in Hannah's language which made Hannah wonder if she was a spy with or against the realm. She knew spies needed to have strong language abilities to serve their House well. Listening closely, she heard, "You must arrive there before noon on the fifth and be at the central well or you will miss your contact. Your contact will be carrying on his horse, a blue light similar to this one." She handed the Lannister spy what appeared to be a round ball, white in appearance, but flashing an emerald green light. It was similar to what Hannah had seen other Lannister men carrying on the horn of their saddle so she wondered if there was something different about the one given to the spy?
The spy stood there for a moment as if he had questions to ask but the last woman who spoke to him waved him off, "Hurry, there is still time if you hurry. Go." He responded and leaped on his horse.
After watching him leave, Hannah turned her sights toward the three ancient women but they were no longer there.
Hannah knew where she needed to go so she was quickly in the saddle and rode off in a different direction than the spy had gone. She needed to share the acquired information right away.
