"Yeah?" Sam shouted through his door, in response to Lily's knock. Lily took a deep breath, and opened the door, while asking "Can I come in?"
Sam's room was a bit messy, with clothes and books strewn about. Sam, himself, was sitting at his computer, staring back at the door, with a vaguely annoyed expression on his face. His computer showed a video game paused on its screen. "You know, you're supposed to actually wait for an answer to that question before just coming in," he says.
"Sorry," Lily answered, "do you want me to go?"
"Nah, it's fine, what do you want?" Sam finally asked, after a moment's pause.
Lily closed the door behind her, and approached Sam. "Well, um... there's no way to... I mean... I want to try hypnotizing you."
"Huh?"
"I've been reading about how to do it and I want to try it. Like, um, for relaxation and fun and stuff." Lily could feel the heat rising to her cheeks as she made the request, feeling a bit silly. Maybe she should have just tried to do it sneakily.
Sam stared at his little sister for what felt like an eternity - at least 20 seconds! Then, he spoke.
