Chapter #3

Felicia "copy cat"

    by: Unknown
You hated being so dependent on other people, you really did. Having to drain other people's powers just to get a taste of them is pretty annoying to say the least, as it meant that you were basically just like any other teenage sap when you didn't get your fix. Hell, it was a miracle you had ever even found out you had powers to begin with. You were just minding your own business in a cafe on a foreign exchange trip to Lyons. The waiter brushed fingers with you as he handed you your coffee, and before you knew it you were spewing lightning out of your fingertips like famous French superhero L'Empereur for a day.

Well, maybe "miracle" was the wrong word, as your little public display got you locked up here with the rest of the weirdos to be turned into the real life equivalent of The Avengers, only with a lot more Uncle Sam and Big Brother overtones. You were both the newest arrival to the team (for lack of a more appropriate term) and the youngest person by over a year, and completely relied on siphoning off other people's energy for strength so you had caught a ton of flack from your so called friends.

Well, at least soon you would be getting your daily fix. You liked to crawl around in the ventilation systems, hunting down anyone who dropped their guard and snagging a daily power. You were pretty good at this, changing up your patterns constantly to avoid being predicted and moving so quietly that you could even manage to sneak up on Garrett in the right circumstances (Hell, you tied Garrett in one stealth simulation. Although, it may have helped that you kind of sort of sabotaged his run by bribing one of the testers to switch up a part of the course to throw him off). As you looked out from the floor grate. breathing as silently as a flea, you saw your target close their eye, drifting off to sleep and giving you the perfect opportunity. You pushed the grate out and pulled yourself from the vent before sprinting towards your target...
