"That sounds really close," you note as the sound becomes louder, seemingly bouncing off the walls around you and shaking the tile under your feet.
The professor replies, "I think you-" when the room bursts with light as a glowing rectangle appears, white with a prismatic rainbow of rays on its perimeter. You and the professor step away from the incredible, eye-catching rift.
You bolt for the door, reminding Rebekah, "Hey! We need to get out of here, remember!" But you delay opening the exit when she raises her hand. Her gaze is set on the white doorway. She takes something from her disorganized satchel and points it towards the disturbance.
"It's here. I must take some measurements first," she explains. "I have to be sure this is what I think it is." For reasons of curiosity or foolishness, you remain where you stand, watching as the professor paces around the geometric tear between dimensions. As she circles to its rear, she calls out, "It's invisible from this side! Scott, I can see you. There is nothing in front of me."
From your perspective, all you see is a glowing shape until the professor reappears from the opposite side and becomes a shadowed silhouette, radiant at its edges before the gateway. You anxiously await her findings, hopefully before the universe turns itself inside out.
