You see a number of interesting choices including the three conventional starting types... one of which at its 3rd evolution. Also there is the no brainer 4th choice of eevee... but the last one was... a curious one... Taillow. Out of the regional birds Taillow had always fallen short in his opinion... all the rest were winners no doubt over it. But then a thought strikes you, every trainer that picks a pokemon will pick one of the others, most likely eevee. No one would pick poor Taillow. Suddenly you feel like you have to pick her. Anyway how bad could it be, having a starter that can use Fly would save a lot of time.
The professor blinks at your choice. "I... honestly threw that one in as a joke... I figured everyone would just pick eevee and... well luckily I have one but... she's a bit... shy."
"I'm sure about it" You don't know how comfortable you are with borderline if not crossing the line pokephilia anyway, maybe a timid pokemon would help ease you into it.
He opens the pokeball for you and a rather short thin, flat chested girl covered in soft feathers appears. With a small beak on her face and wings on her arms she seems a bit odd all things considered. Either way her modest body is made up for by her obvious blush and her dashing into the corner. You slowly walk over to her and say. "Hey there lil lady... its ok... I'm your new friend... I won't hurt you." She strikes you as absolutely adorable even though her body is surprisingly toned and fit. "Looks like your a natural born flyer... I wish i could fly. come on over here." She slowly looks up and has a faint smile. "I wanna take you on adventure... and you'll become strong and beautiful. Would you like that... can I be your trainer?" She nods happily. She looks at the pokeball and lunges for it, pushing the button to let herself back in.
The professor sighs. "She has a condition... no voice... its shattered her confidence in herself so... forgive her reserved nature."
That brings a question to mind suddenly. "Do... pokegirls talk in... growls and animal *ahem* pokemon noises... say their name repeatedly... or do they talk like humans."
Luckily he doesn't find your question suspicious. "Its a case by case thing. It varies wildly... but they do understand human speak and can all communicate to each other."
