Later that day, Jack and Whispa was walking alongside a road. "hey whispa, what was that thing you did back there." Jack asked whispa. "... That was my rage state. It's easy to start but, difficult to Control and stop. My people where called Monsters for that same reason. they lose control then they act on instinct." "I see, If you didn't go to your rage state, you would've been dead from those hunters."Jack said as he understands how Whispa survives in self-defense. "are your wings still Broken? I have some bandage straps in my bag. It might not be much but it could help your wings to heal up." Jack said as he puts his hand on his bag. "Why are you helping me? Why are you not afraid? I mean... I am a dragon. And your... A human." Whispa said in a confused tone. Jack pause then he looked away with a troubling expression on his face "I wish I had an answer for that but-" before Jack can finish talking in his head. He hears something coming closer further down the road. "Hide."Jack said as they look around for place to hide. Jack hides behind a tree while Whispa hides behind A large rock
The sound was coming from a carriage with four guards in horseback in a square formation around the carriage. When the carriage passed by, Jack caught sight of Maria in the carriage. Jack manage to cover his mouth before he calls out Maria so that he won't spook her or the guards. Suddenly The guards were shot and killed by bandit archers perched on top of the trees. After the surprise attack, Rebecca was leaning against and standing on a tree. When the bandits came closer to the carriage. Jack steps out with his broken spear. "There you are you slippery little-"before Rebecca could finish, there was a loud roar coming from the sky. "Oh no, not now." Whispa said whether she saw a armored dragon flying overhead searching for her. The loud roar scared the horses causing them to run away, along with the carriage with Maria still inside. Running out of time, Jack runs past the spaced out bandits and jumps on to a seemingly brave horse to rescue Maria.
After running past the Forest. Jack gets closer and closer to the runway carriage."Jack!" Maria Shouted when she saw him right next to the carriage.
"Maria, Open the door!" Jack Shouted as he struggles to stay alongside with the carriage. "what should I do?!" "Jump to me!" "What!" Maria Shouted with a scared look on her face. "you've got to jump!" "I- I can't!" "yes you can, this road won't last forever and I can't get closer to you!" Jack yelled. The runaway carriage was heading towards a cliff. "Do you trust me?" "... Yes!" "Then Jump... Please."Jack said as he reaches out to catch her. Maria closes her eyes and jumps out towards Jack. When the horses broke free and the carriage fell down the cliff. Jack managed to keep a stronghold on Maria's hand as the horse stops just inches away from the cliff.
Later that night. Jack and Maria got off of the horse and set down on a hillside to catch their breath. "You were amazing back there."Jack said as he smiles "I took a leap of faith and you rescued me, twice even. Thank you." "... It was nothing."Jack says as he blushed and smiled once more. "So what will you be doing now?" Maria asked. "well I've been looking around for a roof over my head but." "you're looking for a house? I think I have just the thing."Maria said as she grabs Jack by the hand and leads him to an Old abandon clock tower looking over the ocean and the kingdom of Paragon. "It's perfect." "consider it as a gift for saving my life." "I appreciate the kindness, your majesty. Thank you." "you can call me that when were in the city. But please, call me Maria."Maria said causing Jack to blush. "until we meet again, hero."Maria said when she climbs on the horse then rides back to the castle. "Who was that?"Whispa said suddenly surprising Jack. "that was the Princess. And she just helped us find a new Home."Jack said, then Him and Whispa went inside the Clocktower.
Meanwhile at the mercenary outpost. "what do you mean you where able to kill him!" The mercenary Leader Shouted. "... I'm sorry boss, he, caught me off guard. Not only that, but.. He seems to have... A dragon by his side. A actual fire breathing Dra-" The dragon is of no concern. I need you to focus on defeating him and Bring me that stone" "... as you wish. Father." Rebecca said as she walks away.
