Mackenzie knew most haunted houses were cheesy and largely failed to live up to their names, but she couldn't help admiring the work put into them. Checking out different haunted house attractions was a bit of a hobby for Mackenzie, and she'd heard that this particular one had undergone some fairly major redesigns since she last checked it out. Needless to say, the redhead was curious as to what was new and improved.
Moving along the queue, Mackenzie patiently waited for her turn, listening to the prerecorded screams and growls that added ambiance. With approval, Mackenzie noticed that the outside facade of the attraction was visibly improved from last time, actually giving forth a creepy appearance. Hopefully the inside would prove similarly improved.
Finally stepping inside, Mackenzie's eyes took a moment to adjust to the low light of the main entrance. Right away Mackenzie could see that things were very different. Rather than a linear path, the entrance offered three different doors to choose from, each with a sign hanging above it.
To Mackenzie's left was a door labeled "Gardens" with creeping vines and mist creeping out and into the main room. The door directly ahead had a lopsided sign saying "Dining Room", likely the main path most people were expected to go down. Finally, to Mackenzie's right, was a door labelled "Basement" with a set of stairs descending into darkness.
