When Brandon answered the call, he was met with an unfamiliar voice. "Hello? Is this Ben and Brandon?" The twins looked at each other confused, as they did not recognize the voice calling them. Brandon turned his head to the computer and responded, "Um, yeah? Who wants to know?" There was a short silence before a response came from the computer. "Oh, I'm sorry. You probably don't remember me- well, us."
While the feminine voice spoke, Brandon tried thinking of who he knows that has this voice. He couldn't not match the voice to any of his acquaintances, however. "What? Us? There's someone else with you?" He said confused. The unfamiliar voice was about to speak again, but was interrupted by another voice.
"You guys really don't remember us? What a shocker..." "Hey, don't be too hard on them, it's been a long time." "Ugh, whatever." The voices talked back and forth for a while before Ben interrupted them. "Neither of you have answered Brandon's question. Who are you?"
The voices stopped conversing with each other. One of them spoke up after a short silence. "I'm Alice. The other voice is my sister, Aliyah. We were in the same playgroup as you guys when we were toddlers."
"Playgroup?" Ben thought to himself. Quickly, the memories of this playgroup began to flood back. When Ben and Brandon were little, they were apart of a playgroup with other toddlers. What was unique about this playgroup, however, was that it was the playgroup for all the pairs of conjoined twins that existed at that time.
"Wait, but that means..." Ben's thought was interrupted by Brandon, who was likely thinking the same thing as Ben. "You guys were one of the pairs of conjoined twins from our group!" The voice of Aliyah began to chuckle. "Now you finally remember!" Alice also laughed before speaking up. "Yup. Two heads on one body, just like you guys."
Ben and Brandon began to laugh as well. "Wow, it's been so long!" Ben began to say. Before he could continue, Brandon began to speak. "It's nice to talk to you guys again. Why are you calling, though?" "We were wondering if you guys wanted to meet up somewhere, and catch up! It's been so long, and you guys are the pair we remember the most." Aliyah responded.
Ben and Brandon looked at each other. They muted the call for a little while so they could discuss. "You up for meeting with them? It'd be nice to talk to them again for the first time in a long time." Brandon said. Ben thought to himself for a moment before saying, "Yeah, I think this'll actually be fun!"
They un-muted the call, and Brandon said, "Yeah, we'd be glad to! Where do you guys want to meet," Brandon could hear a faint conversation going on between the other pair of twins. After a short moment, Alice began to speak. "Why don't you guys just swing by our place? We live right by the school where playgroup was." Ben spoke up and said, "Sure, why not? See you girls then!"
The call ended, and without saying a word to each other, the twins began to get ready. After putting on a nice flannel with some jeans, they were out the door, and on the way to the girls' place.
