This choice: She brought you to her friend's home • Go Back...Chapter #41Friend of a friend? by: rroll There was a sudden jolt and then your view of the outside world began to warp and distort. The pads of Amber’s index finger and thumb were the only constants, as they appeared to press with some force against the plastic barrier that was protecting you. The flood of light and an explosion of color helped you understand that she was likely to have reached wherever she intended to be. You were about to learn where you were and why you were there.
Everything came to a screeching halt, and your momentum sent you airborne before you slammed against the ground. You were slow to get up, mostly due to the debilitating amount of dizziness you were experiencing, but even then, you knew you were being observed.
When you eventually looked you were confronted Amber’s monstrous eye. The change in light changed allowed you to see the blood vessels just under its surface, looking almost like red tributaries that you could imagine seeing from the birds-eye-view of some alien topography. You also took note of the layer of moisture that coated it, imagining the horror of being stuck to her eye like an unwanted piece of debris.
You flinched as she blinked, getting another demonstration of the sheer scale of her eye, but not a moment later that weightless sensation returned. Almost violently you began to slide between and across the clear walls of your plastic prison, but after about fifteen seconds everything stopped again.
"What is she doing?" You trembled, doing your best to study her immense form to better understand your situation.
Then there was a startling eruption of sound, causing you to bend forward and cover your ears. You recognized the rhythm of it, she was knocking on a door.
"Come on, Leah.” Amber thundered under hear breath before knocking again.
"Leah?" You think. “Where the fuck is she taking me?”
Amber sighed with frustration, then jostled your plastic prison unintentionally. You were getting used to picking yourself up, hopelessly realizing that you were far from experiencing it the last time, and that time you even predicted that you’d be on the move again soon. You were right.
That time you were able to see an endless green forest beneath you, which you realized was probably the front lawn of this Leah person. A few short moments later a massive brown structure came into view, and as you got closer it began to dominate your attention. It was a fence, and you were approaching a gate.
“Leah?” The goddess bellowed.
"In the garden! Gate’s open!" You heard another enormous, disembodied voice rumble from a distance.
Amber sighed as she fidgeted with the lock, eventually opening the gate in a seismic event worthy of a Tolkien novel, then the outside world blurred as your velocity increased.
"I need to show you something..." Amber blurted with what you felt to be discomfort.
"Well nice to see you too." Leah replied with a deafening chuckle.
You felt gravity press you down as you were raised into the air. You looked down to get a look at the woman that had unknowingly been the source of your discomfort. Her hair was dyed blonde, except for the small portion near her scalp where her natural brown hair was growing back in. You could make out her blue eyes and that she had an attractive face, but it also occurred to you that she had a lot in common with Amber. Could it be that they were related somehow? She looked younger than Amber, but judging by her skin, you guessed that she was in her mid to late thirties. She had on a gardening apron along with gardening gloves to match, and for a moment it felt like you were looking at an ordinary woman. Only for a moment.
“What’s up with you? You look like you saw a ghost or something?” Leah spoke up after Amber failed to say anything.
"I need to show you..." Amber twitched the Tic Tak case to get Leah’s attention and lucky you were already bracing yourself.
You watched a subtle smile form on her lips as Leah’s focus narrowed onto you. You knew that look and it sent shivers up your spine.
"Oh, I'd like one." Leah resounded as she got to her knees and opened her mouth directly under the clear plastic floor of the Tic Tak case. "Can you drop one in? My gloves are dirty."
You couldn’t look away from the abyss; the sun’s light managed to illuminate the far corners of Leah’s mouth and throat. Stretching columns of slime warped as they slowly began to thin out, as puddles of her bubbling saliva travelled to the back of her throat from the force of gravity. Her uvula’s movement appeared janky as she breathed, which you realized was due to the thick goo that seemed to be sticking it to the wall of her throat. It was a true horror to behold
"There isn’t a mint in here." Amber replied with agitation. “Can you please just give me your hand?”
"Okay, fine... Sheesh." Leah closed her mouth and moved backwards, then she moved her gloved hand beneath you. You looked down to see a brown mass, realizing that it was covered in dirt and debris.
Amber seemed to pause and look Leah’s outstretched glove, as if she were thinking something through. "Okay… need to take off your glove, it's gross.”
"Okay, you better have a good reason for all this." Leah said as she moved her hand away and slid both of her gloves off. Once she was finished, she spread her naked palm and held it under where you were.
Just like the moments before you were dumped out of the toy car, you didn’t have time to react to the shifting angles of the container. Amber’s nail cracked open the container’s lid and then you were suddenly sliding towards the opening. Another the expanse of skin lied just beyond the encroaching threshold, and then you fell through.
For the second time that day your body slapped against a warm and damp surface, and you had to peel your face from another titan’s sweaty skin.
You took a quick look at your new surroundings; you realized Leah’s palm had its differences from Amber’s. It seemed larger, and maybe wider, but you were certain that her palm seemed springier. The folds and grooves along the surface of her skin were a lot more defined than what he’d seen on Amber’s palm, that was obvious to you from the start.
But as time went by, it became impossible to ignore the rancid odor that loomed thick in the air. You couldn’t help but cover your mouth and nose to block it out, but even that was mostly useless.
"That smell... What is that smell...?" You mumble to yourself, trying everything you could to block out the musky scent.
It had a hint of vinegar to it, but the scent smelled mostly like the inside of a used slipper. You remembered the brown gardening gloves she held beneath you, and it was obvious you were smelling the result of hours of sweating into a glove that was seldom washed. Her god-sized hands were still resonating with heat, and you could only imagine how much sweat her palm produced while it was sealed within those thick walls of canvas.
You did your best to stay calm, but a harsh realization stopped you in your tracks. Your eyes glazed beyond the edge of her palm, where you saw a wall of blurred, grey fabric stretch. You knew you were looking at the Leah's shirt, you’d taken note of it when you first saw her.
Gravity intensified and you're forced to your knees, almost like she was forcing you to accept her dominance. The force dissipated and you looked up again to see that her face was significantly closer, and that a single monolithic eye was fixated on you. It seemed to be studying you, shifting between states of widening and squinting as her massive pupil dilated.
"Amber... what did you just put in my hand?" She boomed, but in a noticeably more muted tone.
"Leah... look at it." Amber replied.
"It's some kind of bug, and you’re literally the worst." Leah’s enormous index finger breached the horizon before it barreled its way towards you.
You did the only thing that made sense, you ran. You knew it was hopeless, but your instincts took over. If it wasn't for the slippery surface, you probably would have gotten a lot further, but unfortunately you lost your balance.
Your body slapped against her skin first and then your face followed. You managed to brace your fall to a degree, but you were unable to stop your nose from rubbing up against the surface of her palm. You could feel as the friction pulled the tip of your nose upwards, opening your nostrils to the sweat and oil that dominated the moist landscape.
You cough and choke for a moment before you remembered what you were running from. When you turned on your back, all you were able to see was the pad of her index finger and the detailed print on its surface.
"No! Not like this!" You scream, running through your options in your mind. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
