This was a sign. Attempting to converse with these giant humans is a silly desire, and trying it again will end much worse. You are thankful that Fate has given you a warning rather than just killing you outright! You are lucky to have discovered the first thing, the first humanising fact about the famiuly matriarch: her name.
Daisy. Almost funny that the name of such a small, delicate flower should also belong to this towering goddess above you. You feel one step closer to being part of her family.
But no, you tell yourself as you get back to climbing, communication is a bad idea. All you need to do is accompany her on her day outside the house, see who she talks to, observe where she goes and what she does. Through voyeurism alone you can get to know Daisy, and when you have learned all you can, in the future you can move on to the other members of the family.
You take your quarter-inch tall self to the edge of Daisy's sandal, which is still higher than you. The woman is standing still, so she's a fairly easy climb again. The water has dried from her skin, and it feels delightfully moisteurised as you pull yourself up her toe and onto the platform of her upper foot. Above, the human conversation rumbles out like distant combat, individual words indistinguishable to you. It's distracting enough that she hasn't felt your trespass across her body at least, and you're not being scratched off.
Up the ankle and to the edge of the sundress, but before you can get higher, the pair begin to walk. Each movement of Daisy's legs sends ripples through her clothing, and you are swung back and forth at an alarming rate, clinging tight to the fabric for dear life. It's not the fall you're scared of, but the fact that you'll be stepped on soon after landing!
Where is she going? Why won't she calm down and let you get your bearings? What have you done to deserve this treatment? How can you make amends?
Already you have come to see this woman as a god, with complete control over your life an environment. And thus, the next decision is up to her, not to you. It's simply a matter of how you react to it:
