This choice: Tara nodding in agreement, just looking for a way to get you back down. • Go Back...Chapter #34Tara nodding in agreement, just looking for a w... by: knuckles "Good call....ummmm." Tara is glancing around towards the ground, and occasionally at you. You realize that she's looking for a safer way to get you down, than the way you came up. A flash of inspiration shoots through you, a chance to get down safely and show off your technical skills some more. "Hey Tara!" She seems to pick up your voice, despite the distance, perhaps growing more attuned to listening for you. "Sorry Richard, just trying to find someway safe down." She smiles sheepishly.
"No problem, thanks for the concern, but I got a great way down." She cocks her head a bit, "Is it the parachute?" She points toward the patch of green silk next to you. "No, but on that note could you hold onto that for me for a few?" "Sure!" She smiles as her finger and thumb approach your area. Despite your growing familiarity, the two digits attached to the much larger hand behind closing in on your position still causes you to shuffle back a few paces. The two impact the palm you are on, shaking it, and you, slightly. Pinching together as gently as the giantess could, she pulls up the 20 pond chute like the thin tiny leaf it is to her, lowering it and inserting it into her left pocket. Turning her attention back to you, "So what's your plan?"
Before you have a chance to think about your little stunt any further, you sprint to the edge of her palm and jump, falling the dozen or so feet to her dark tanned shorts on her outer right thigh. You hear her gasp, but your too invested in looking like a badass to stop your escapade. Grasping the thick material, you quickly attach your grappling hook to the stands, causing a small hole you doubt she's capable of noticing before rappelling down the curved surface, then down to the base where her leg meets the tree in a series of bounds. Keeping up your act, you retract the line, and then begin running towards the main trunk of the tree, which Tara has not sat up from. You spare a glance up as you run along the bark, Tara's eyes peaking over the edge of her leg as she watches your progress with a mixture of confusion and amusement. Your run takes you past her indomitable khaki covered hips, and finally just behind her prodigious bottom which covers the area in her shadow. Finally you reach the point where the branch meets the trunk, and it seems your journey has ended.
"That was cool and all Richard but you don't have enough rope in the world to get down from up here." Tara smirks at you, thinking you are all show. You grin, time to reveal the second part of your demonstration. From Tara's perspective she sees you pause slightly at a piece of bark jutting out from the tree, then with the most minimal of movement, you disappear into it. Her eyes bulge a bit. Where did he go what happened? Was he in the tree? She leans down as much as she can, but perched as she is along the length of the branch, she can't lean over too much or go tumbling off. That could end badly for her. She studies the bark, and her eyes begin to move around a wider search pattern, looking for any sign. Suddenly she notices movement back where you disappeared the first time. You had popped back into her view and are waving up at her. "What the..." With as much volume as you and your suit can produce you show up at her befuddled face, "It's my camouflaged pulley system! You know, the one you ignored earlier and decided to tie me to your hair instead?" Tara hears you, faintly, but she does, as her head retracts, red with embarrassment. She mumbles "Sorry about that..." After a moment she leans back down again, "So how's it work?" Your confidence up, you reenter the device, grateful and a bit surprised it hadn't been crushed during Tara's ascension up the tree.
You kick out the bar you have in the rudimentary winch system, allowing your added, albeit miniscule weight, to steadily carry down the bark box, offsetting the weight you had at the other end. Steadily was an understatement. Your design was simple, so speed was limited, which was fine by you because the slower it went, the less likely it would catch the eye of a mighty predator like a bird. You peak out the narrow, goggle sized slit you had opened in the bark and watched as the earth slowly came up towards you. Your feeling of awesomeness starts to fade. This would take a little while..."THAT'S SO COOL!"
You aren't allowed another second to feel pride at Tara's praise, as the box you are in vibrates, and like an asteroid shooting past your box, the form of Tara come feet first, a massive blur, then a thud of her impact. The tree is strong and deep, so while you hear the thud, it has little effect on your ride down. Nonetheless, you eagerly scan down as the "asteroid" rises from her crouched landing and stands tall over the forest floor below, your home these last months dwarfed by her mass. Oh, that impact probably shook everything up in your home, you think regretfully. She turns her attention back to the tree, looking up at you for the first time since you had first seen her. Her eyes scan for a moment, looking for the tiny box. She takes a step forward looking for you, and you cringe hoping she hasn't stepped on your shelter. She seems to realize this too, and with a flash of panic over her face she looks down, relief washes over her face, and so over yours. Despite not being able to see below her waist yet, you think she must have missed it. She turns back to you again, squinting, eyes darting to and fro over your position, before finally settling on your "elevator", a smile beaming across her face. She takes a half step forward and you begin passing her eye level, as she leans in to watch your progress. Her face fills your limited vision, her eyes staring seemingly directly into yours. "I bet this took some time. Love it though!" Her praise fills you warmly and satisfies your pride. Several long moments later you begin passing chest level. "Not a fan of the speed though." You briefly worry she will interfere to speed up the process, but thankfully she is becoming more aware of how careful she needs to be. You can't really communicate with her here, so after a few more long moments, view now limited to her abdomen, Tara speaks up again.
"I got a great idea, be right back, I'll meet you when you get down." With that, Tara turns her massive frame around, your view now of her fine tush, khaki shorts tightly fitting. "Try not to stare." With that she heads away towards her tent, purpose unknown. Unfortunately, your attempts not to stare fail miserably, enraptured with the fit form walking away, exaggerated sway with each step. Also, was that her flirting with you? You see her enter the tent, temporarily disappearing from your view, you pull back from your viewport and sit on the floor of your bark elevator, a bit overwhelmed these last few minutes, hell with this day, and curious about what Tara had planned. You had put all your cards on the table with this woman, and now you weren't sure what came next. Nothing would be the same, no matter what happened next, that's for sure.
Your ride begins reaching knee height when you hear the telltale signs of Tara approaching, the crunching of plants, the thuds through the earth, disruption of the air. The steps go quiet. You steadily return to your feet and look out. Seeing... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
