Tara was almost in tears now. After inspecting her hair to an intense degree she began to slowly, delicately, feel through the rest, desperate not to hurt her new little friend. However, with no response forthcoming, and a complete lack of finding any lumps in her hair, she realizes that he must have fallen off at some point during her climb. Immediately a pit opened in her stomach, had she just killed this person? Tiny yes, but a living breathing human being who trusted her. Suddenly a flicker of sensation from her left knee snapped her to attention. A tiny, odd lookIng leaf had landed there. “What the...” Instinctively her left hand raised to brush it off and return to her search, however the leaf looked just odd enough to pause her hand. It look almost like silk...and was something small moving under there?
With a flash of realization snd no small amount of hope, she gently pinched at the very edge of “leaf” and began to Raise it ever so slowly. Her fingers felt the odd material, confirming her suspicions. Then, as she raised further, a small humanoid figure came into focus, connected by thin strings to what must be a chute. Richard...
No movement followed, and her worries returned, as she pulled the figure closer to her face for examination. Was he conscious, she wondered? Hurt? Why was he there in the first place? She pulled the the chute just above her eye, extended her other hand beneath Richards dangling form, and brought him within a couple of inches of her left eye. Closing the other she focused intently on him, looking for answers.
