This choice: Why not - join the group of Charlotte and her friends • Go Back...Chapter #8Join Charlotte and her friends by: Unknown As your eyes wander over to wear Charlotte's friends are sitting, you can't help but notice how - like Charlotte - attractive they are. You don't recognise any of them, which could well mean that unlike Charlotte they don't know your secret. The prospect of spending some time with a bunch of girls you don't know is both intimidating but thrilling at the same time...
"Sure, why not," you smile to Charlotte.
"Great," she grins, as she leads you over to the table.
The girls are all chatting and laughing animatedly as you both approach. Charlotte gets their attention.
"Hey, ladies!" The girls stop talking and turn their eyes towards the pair of you. "This is Ross - mind if he joins us?"
Charlotte's request is met with enthusiastic agreement. The girls squidge up, so that they make room for you and your ex girlfriend's friend.
"OK, this is Tara, Dawn, Carrie, Amy and Jessica. We all go to the same gym." Each of the girls smiles and/or waves at you as their names are mentioned. You smile and study each of their faces carefully, so as to help you remember them. It's something you always make an effort to do with new people. Inevitably, you will probably get their names muddled up anyway, you think to yourself.
"So, what were we saying," one of the girls (you think is Dawn) abruptly continues her conversation with the group.
You feel a little awkward; you like female company but feel a little overwhelmed as you are a complete stranger to these girls.
"So, how do you know Charlotte?" One of the girls sitting next to you suddenly asks.
"Well," You smile back, grateful to be involved in a conversation, even though the others' attention is focused on their own chat. "I kinda knew her in High School... and I actually used to go out with one of her friends."
"Small world," the girl smiles back.
"Sorry, what did you say your name was?" You think it best to ask her now, rather than wait so long that it's past the point of being able to ask!
"Amy," she replies. You stare at her emerald green eyes, which are flashing brightly at you. Her long, red hair and freckles dotted around her face give her a distinctive, attractive appearance.
"Which of Charlotte's friends did you use to date?" Amy inquires.
