A story about Billy Monk, a eight year old adopted boy who has not learned of his adoption, but will later find out in a series of events that his "mother" is a sweet and loving woman but with a rather large surprise that Billy will find out about.

Billy's father is out of town most of the time on business trips and appears in the story once in a while.
