"I actually came in here to see if you foun...

"I actually came in here to see if you'd found your special gift yet." your mother replied.

"Special gift?" you asked, not quite sure at first what she was talking about, as the only thing you'd found so far that might be considered a gift was... Suddenly, everything clicks into place, the mysterious appearance of the katana, the familiar handwriting... Eyes going wide, you breath "No way!"

"Oh, I guess you must have found it then." your mother says, giggling a little at the expression on your face.

"But-but, you gave me this?!" you asked incredulously, pulling the katana's hilt out of your pocket and showing it to her.

"Sure did." your mom acknowledged. "Why so surprised Jason, I told you I would get you a really great gift for your graduation didn't I?" your mother asked. "Do you not like it or something?!" she inquired.

"I-it's great mom, but seriously, why the heck would you give me something like this? For that matter where did it even come from?" you couldn't help asking, genuinely curious about how your mom could have ever gotten hold of such an item in the first place.

"I gave it to you to use of course. And as for where I got it from................."
