Daniel didn't think about the crown again until he got home. Then he went to his bathroom mirror to try the crown on. He wanted to be the first to see the effects if there were any.
He put it on and the crown transformed into a baseball hat, but not just any baseball hat but a hat that perfectly matched the hat he had ordered online and was still waiting for. It had the emblem of his favorite baseball team.
"I wasted my money ordering that hat. If I had known this crown could duplicate it, I would have waited. If this crown duplicates a hat I want, can I get it to change to a different hat?"
Daniel tried and it took some concentration to get the crown to change but it changed into a British cap. Then he changed it to a cowboy hat, then a beret, then an Australian hat, then a Jewish hat, and then a football helmet. It could be any hat he wanted to wear. Then he tried changing it into something other than a hat and that worked too. The crown turned into a shoe resting on his head. He lifted the shoe off his head and it turned back into a crown but as soon as he put it back on his head, it became a shoe again.
"Do I have to wear it on my head?"
Daniel pulled up his shirt and put the crown on his belly but it remained a crown. Then he tried a different approach. He put the crown on his head, changed it to a shoe, and then tried to think the shoe to his feet. This worked. The shoe slid off his head and down his body. It ran into problems with his shirt but then slipped under his shirt. It needed skin contact. It could not slip under his pants so it just stayed there hanging off his belly. Daniel tried to lift the shoe off his belly but the shoe would not budge. He had to move it back up to his head before he could take it off, and it turned back into a crown.
"Clothes get in the way." Daniel stripped off his clothes and put the crown on. The crown clothed him completely and changed into whatever clothes Daniel wanted to wear from casual to formal. It could even become luxurious clothes like a king would wear or it could become a superhero costume for halloween. "I never have to buy clothes again."
There were some limits though. The crown only did clothes. When Daniel tried making a watch, it looked like a watch but it didn't tell time. Also, the only clothes it could do were those close to the body. When he had tried the superhero costume, the crown had trouble foming a cape. The crown could only do towels if Daniel wore them but if they got away from his body, they turned back into the crown. The crown also had problems with long flowing scarves, trench coats, tuxedo tails, bell bottom pants, and bath robes. But the crown could easily create ordinary shirts, pants, shoes, gloves, hats, and underclothes.
As far as Daniel could tell, these clothes were real. They looked real and felt real. In fact, they were always his size and a perfect fit. They were the most comfortable clothes he could imagine. They seemed real to him but they were all in his imagination.
