Archeologist Brendan McKale is told of an ancient site not touched by human hands for a millennia. Of course this was just the big break he needed to become respected in his field and perhaps get published. After days of traveling with south american native tour guides, he comes to the vine overgrown site. It's very presence frightens away his guides and he is left alone. Not one to be detoured by religion on superstition, Brendan makes his way inside a huge temple with stair cased sides.
The stones are incredibly old and there is green water just inside the archway from decades of rain pooling through the cracks in the ceiling. The ceiling is very high and as he looks up with his trusty maglite he can see spiders everywhere... Some types he'd never seen before. He comes to a shrine made of solid gold with a three foot high statue of a spider on it.
