"What's wrong, aunt Samantha?" Sensing her worry, you asked. "Are you expecting trouble?"
Samantha sighed, turning to three men who had walked into the store. They wore business suits and everything about them spelled trouble in both yours and Harry's minds. "The store is closed, rug rats." Coolly, the first man said. "Scram before you get in our way."
"I have done nothing to deserve my shop being forced closed." Offended, Samantha argued. She turned to you and Harry. "Please, you two, get out of here. I can handle this."
You looked at the three thugs then at Harry who had the same idea in mind as you did. "You guys had better start showing some convincing proof that you have any such authority." Folding your arms, you said. "This woman may be the 'black sheep' of my family but she is still family."
Samantha turned to you surprised but smiled slightly at your loyalty to family, even the 'black sheep' as you had put it. Harry had folded his arms as well, standing at your side. The three men hesitated as the first man, the leader of the group frowned. "I take it you know..." Cryptically, he said.
You raised an eyebrow, causing him to chuckle. "You don't know." Surprised, he said. "That makes this interesting, though more complicated."
"You are defending a repeat offender of misdemeanors." Evenly, the second man said. "We are here to take her in for these crimes."
"I believe that is a job for the police." Unimpressed, Harry said. "Perhaps we should call them in."
"Perhaps you two should take a hike before you learn things you are not ready to learn." Annoyed, the third man snapped. "This is not the time or the place for little boys to play 'hero'."
"Nor is this the time or place for grown men to pretend to be police officers." Frowning, you countered. "I'm going to count to three. If you do not show some ID or leave before time runs out, you are going to have a serious problem on your hands."
Harry nodded, approving of your threat and began. "One... Two..."
