You open your eyes and see it was dark inside Crystal's room, you look around and see no sign of Crystal anywhere. Laying next to you was the tablet and stylus, you get to your feet and stick your head out the door, lining the hallway were torches that illuminated everything. You start walking down the hallway that you remember lead to the entrance to the cave, you retrace your steps and find the entrance to the cave as you walk outside a few step before stopping and sitting on a nearby rock. "Came here for some fresh air?" you hear a male voice ask, you turn a see the male wolf that tackled you earlier sitting on rock above the cave entrance, "yeah and to stretch my legs" you tell him.
He climbes off the rock and makes his way down to you, "I want to apologize for my actions earlier" he says, "its ok, you thought I was stealing that child and you came to its rescue" you tell him. He nods, "yeah, I'm Rex by the way" he says, "John" you say holding out your hand again, Rex looks at your hand and slowly grabs it and shakes your hand. "This is how everyone in your species greets each other?" he asks, you nod, "how does your species greet?" you ask. You see Rex get somewhere between embarrassed and nervous, "we--um---we smell each other" he says rubbing the back of his head. "Oh....well why didn't anyone try to smell me?" you ask, Rex lets out a small, nervous laugh, "because when you first walked into the cave you had a strong smell and everyone could smell it, no offense" he says.
You hear footsteps behind you and as you turn around you see Crystal walking toward you, "I thought I smelled you out here" she says. You laugh, "what?" she asks, you explain what you and Rex were just talking about, "sorry about leaving you alone in the room, Shawna wanted to talk to me about having you possibly stay with us longer" she says. "And?" you ask, "we're still talking about it" she says, Rex stands up, "I'll leave you two alone" he says, patting you on the shoulder and walking back into the cave. Crystal walks over and sits on the rock next to you, "I was wondering earlier, why did you offer to have me stay with you?" you ask, you see her fur flutter, "um--well I---uh---you see----*sigh* I found you interesting and I was the only one here that didn't have a male mate--err---companion" she says.
