You struggled as hard as you could, trying desperately to get Emma to notice you, but to no avail. With all three of the girls oblivious to your predicament, all you could do was groan as the book you're stuck on was carried away. At least with Emma, you wouldn't be bothered when she noticed you... if ever. While she was rather book smart, she certainly wasn't the most attentive girl. As the girls went through their classes, you continued to be sandwiched between the heavy (to you anyway) text books and compressed even flatter as the day went on. Soon lunch period came and went, Mary still looked for you. You could hear her confront her brother, having assumed he had done something to you.
"No, sorry, sis. I haven't seen putty boy all day. Oh! Let me know when you do find him! I've got study hall later today and I could use a seat cushion", he laughed.
You could hear a noise that you assumed was Mary punching her brother. "If we get home and I find out you've done something to him you're gonna be sorry, Gary!"
If only she knew you were so close. There was at least a silver lining in all this, though: As long as you were stuck as Emma's book cover, Gary couldn't pick on you. Still, you certainly didn't want to stay like this. As lunch period came and went and Emma and Stacy went to gym class, it became clear that she wasn't going to be using your book.
"Emma, why'd you even take out your chemistry book if you don't even have that class today?", Stacy giggled as the girls got dressed, Emma unknowingly setting you along with the rest of her things in her gym locker.
"I thought for sure that it was today. Oh well, I guess I can get some studying done when I get home. Say, you didn't happen to find Mary's boyfriend, did you? She's pretty upset."
The redheaded girl shrugged as she squeezed into a pair of tight shorts. "Nope. Maybe they switched his classes around? Or he got sick or something? I hope the little guy's okay."
As they continued getting dressed, they continued to chat, gossiping about boys as you were forced to remain sandwiched like jelly between the books. "... I mean, I guess Gary's kinda cute and all, but he's way too mean for me to put up with him", Emma said.
"Me either. *sigh* I wish I could find another cute little squishy boy like Mary. She's so lucky", Stacy replied blushing a bit. "Jack might not be tall or strong, but he'll stay young and cute forever", she giggled as she put her shoes on.
Emma laughed as she finished up along with her. "With how much fun you have with Jack, we'd probably never see him unless you mooned us."
With that, they headed off to the gymnasium. The sudden silence told you that the locker room was completely empty, and would be for the next hour. This would be the perfect time to escape if you were able to. With no girls around to find you, you renewed your struggles, hoping to finally be free from your book cover prison.
