Chapter #6

From One Mess to Another

    by: Unknown
After the first week had passed, you were beginning to think that this was destined to be the rest of your life from this point on. Hidden from sight, stapled to the wall of the classroom, and admired by oblivious students and teachers alike. Your friends and family would eventually forget about you and move on, and your entire life would be ruined.

Thankfully, a freak accident ended up saving you from this fate the next Monday. A ditzy girl who was too busy staring at her phone tripped on another student’s backpack. As she fell, her Starbucks coffee splashed out of her hand, and smacked against the wall. The coffee poured out of the cup, thoroughly soaking both you and the project you were stuck to.

The girl hastily cleaned up her mess, but the destruction she had caused did not go unnoticed by Miss Scarlet. Miss Scarlet saw the ruined project, and took it off the wall with a sigh. She carefully removed the staples, and then crumpled up the paper and tossed it into the trash can.

You were ecstatic to be freed from the horrible mess you had been in for the past week, but your current situation was not much better. As you rested in the trash can, lying atop a pile of discarded papers and candy wrappers, you didn’t waste a second willing your body to reform. You put all of your focus into breaking free from the paper and reforming, but it was all for naught.

Not yet down adding cruel twists to your life, the same ditzy girl from earlier walked over to the trash can. Her lunchbox had been soaked by the coffee too, ruining everything inside. As such, the girl dumped the entire contents of her lunch into the trash, crushing you with mounds of gross, sticky food. Lastly, she dropped the now-empty coffee cup in and walked back to her seat.

Your body was squashed and hidden from sight, buried under a soggy sandwich, a pile of wet potato chips, and a few carrots. Your chances of reforming now were gone, as the pressure on top of you was too great. No one could possibly see you now either, so there was not a thing you could do to save yourself or be saved anymore.

You spent the entire rest of the day trapped in the trash can, until the afternoon custodian came by. The custodian dumped the contents of the can, including you, into a large bag, then sealed the bag shut. She dragged the bag outside of the school, setting it beside several others. Sure enough, you heard the loud noise of the dump truck just a few minutes later.

Mentally crying out for help, the bag you were trapped in was lifted up and dumped into the back of the truck, followed by the rest of the bags of trash. The truck then headed off down the road towards the garbage disposal facility, the drivers of the truck blissfully unaware that they were carrying a helpless, living boy along with them.

Once at the facility, the truck poured every bag into a huge pile, where a few workers began to sort through each bag one by one. You strained your ears to see if you could hear anything, but most noises were muffled by the loud machines in the background.

Eventually, someone opened up your bag, and two gloved hands began rifling through the contents. The hands grabbed the gross food left behind by the ditzy girl, and then retreated.

“Hey! I just found some food, but other than that, this bag is pretty much all paper.” The person with the gloved hands said.

“Alright.” A second voice replied. “I guess we can send that bag straight to…”

How do they finish their sentence?

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. "...the landfill."

*Noteb*
2. "...the recycling plant."

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
