Chapter #3

A stranger notices Josie's books and strike...

by: Kai Rajaniemi Author IconMail Icon
While Josie was contemplating going to the meeting or not she was surprised by a young man, probably in his early twenties, standing right beside her peering over her shoulder. She turned and looked at him, shutting the book louder than she had anticipated. "Yes, may I help you?" she said with a hint of embarrassment.
"No, not really. I was just curious about the book you were looking at," he said in a calm tone.
"Well, I don't see how it's any of your business... wait a minute...you're not from here are you?" she stammered. The man just laughed and picked up a book about Greenland and started flipping through it when Josie asked again.
"No, I'm not. I'm from New York. So, it looks like to me that you want to travel?" he asked.
"Well, sort of... I was going to join this group, but then you showed up..." she said.
"I know this is kind of sudden for having just met me, but would you like to join me on my flight back to NYC? I'm here on business, and my business is to invite people to travel the world with me," he said.
"I..." she stammered as she thought about it.
