This choice: Nothing yet, but she had a job interview in an hour. • Go Back...Chapter #3Interview at The Grindy Road Cafe by: WTLamp Amy moved as quickly as she could while trying to ensure that the mustard on her pretzel wouldn't fall to staid the button-up white blouse or the smart tan slacks that she had recently had dry-cleaned for just such an interview. As she moved, Amy was reminded of how uncomfortable said clothes were. The slacks could barely contain her round butt, and it led to her belly to slightly muffin over it. Meanwhile, Amy had only barely been able to button up her shirt over her bust and belly, even then had to leave the top few buttons undone, revealing some cleavage (though that might not be a bad thing, considering). Amy finished up her pretzel as she got to the mall, fortunately with a few minutes to spare. Said hurrying had left her red-faced and gasping for air, but that was better than missing the interview by a long shot.
Her interview was for a position in a coffee shop in said mall known as The Grindy Road Cafe. Even now, Amy could see the "HELP WANTED" sign hanging in the window of the shop. Amy took a moment to take a deep breath to fortify herself, before heading inside. The interior of the coffee shop had a few people standing in line to place an order, while others who had already had their coffee were instead seated at little tables dotted around the cafe. Some had bags full of merchandise, some didn't, and all were talking. Amy moved over to the line, which was fortunately pretty short.
Finally, Amy got up to the front, and said to the barista, a chubby black woman whose name tag indicated that her name was Gertrude, "I'm Amy Gainsworth, and I'm here for an interview today, actually."
Gertrude nodded, before heading through a door behind the counter. A moment later, she returned, and said, "Ok, Miss Gainsworth. Just head back through those doors there. The manager is waiting for you."
"Thanks," Amy said, heading behind the counter and into the back of the shop, right into the employee lounge. Waiting there to meet her there was... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
