Jason was in his dorm room as he mumbled to himself while trying to read from a textbook for one of his classes. But a few minutes later, he groaned and pinched his temples as he tried to wrap his head around his studies. He would much rather play video games, but he knew that final exams were coming up in 8 days and it was crucial that he had to be ready for them.
"Jason! You gotta see this!" Rick shouted as he entered the room, holding a drink can in each hand. Rick is Jason's roommate. Rick is much more sociable than Jason, always going to parties and trying to pick up girls while Jason just preferred playing games, but they got along well despite their differences.
"Can't you tell me what it is later, Rick? I'm kinda busy right now." Jason replied with a bit of annoyance.
"Come on, man! I just wanna show you somethin' real quick, please?" Rick asked. Jason then gave out a sigh and said.
"Alright, what is it?" Rick then gave Jason one of the cans which is colored pink and blue and has a label that says "Xpect" and below that are words that say: "Fills you with life! Product of Yaral Industries" Jason raised an eyebrow and said, "Just what am I looking at here Rick?"
"I don't know, I think it's some kind of energy drink. But one of the guys at Alpha Beta Gamma got a whole bunch of these drinks and was just giving them away to everybody on campus so I had to get a couple of cans. And besides, this'll probably help ya stay up so you can study more." Rick explained.
"I don't know, Rick. I'm not a big fan of energy drinks." Jason replied, unsure about the strange drink that Rick brought.
"You won't know until try it, dude. I also saw that girl you like so much with a can."
"H-Heather?" Jason said surprisingly. Heather was a sweet and beautiful girl who shared many of Jason's classes. Jason had developed a crush on her since he first saw her, but he was just too nervous to speak to her.
"Yeah, man. It's gotta be good if your crush is trying it, right?" Rick replied.
"Alright, alright, I'll try it. But just this once." Jason said as he and Rick cracked open their cans. Jason then raised his can and said, "Cheers, I guess."
"Cheers." Rick smiled as the two of them chugged down their cans of Xpect.
"Ugh, that stuff is nasty! I can't believe I drank it all." Jason groaned as he was suddenly hit by nausea. He covered his mouth with his hands as he rushed to the bathroom before dumping the contents of his stomach into the toilet bowl. Rick chuckled at Jason's vomiting and said.
"Man, you are such a lightweight." Even though he was starting to feel nauseous himself.
