As embarrassing as this is, Xion knows deep down that this has a good chance of working. And it doesn't require her spelling out her desires to Roxas.
The Nobody girl yawns and leans back. "I bet my feet smell like toe jam and old cheese."
And upon hearing that, Roxas has dropped his ice cream. He takes a second to cover his mouth before giggling at the absurdity of Xion's claim.
"Why would you even say that?"
"Don't know. I'm just wiggling my toes, and I can feel the sweat drowning them right now." She adds in a smirk. "They're ten times grosser than yours, Roxas."
"Do you wear socks?" he asks. "Because if you do, my feet probably smell worse."
Just what Xion wants to hear. She rises from her spot and tosses the sea-salt ice cream stick off the tower.
Puffing up her cheeks and making the cutest tough-guy impression, she says, "We can settle this now."
"What? You want to smell my feet?"
Xion is already steps ahead of Roxas. Her boots are kicked to the side, and she yanks her socks off her feet. Well, one of them ends up clinging to her big toe. But with enough tugging, the fabric snaps off, revealing one sweaty foot.
"Mmm-hmm. We'll smell each other's feet and see whose are worse."
She's acting pretty weird, Roxas thinks. But look at how excited she is.
Not looking to disappoint his partner, the boy slowly undoes his boots. Due to the moisture within, they slide off like flip-flops.
A short distance from him, Xion is awestruck. Roxas' feet look both sweaty and dirty, a rare accomplishment. Although his soles have a pretty blush, they're covered by bits of sock lint, sand, and a few other dirt bits.
What in the world will those smell like? Xion rubs the back of her head before sitting with her feet extended.
"I'll smell yours first," she says, coaxing Roxas to bring his feet on her face.
Roxas gives a playful slap to Xion's sole. "If yours are as bad as you claim, I'll be alright sniffing first and being done with it."
It's on Xion to make the next call. Who's going to sniff the feet first? Will Roxas smell Xion and get this stinky foot contest out the way? Will Xion smell Roxas and let her desires be quickly fulfilled? Or will both characters smell each other synchronously?
