Himiko, having seen you trying to protect her, had gained determination - and from that determination, power. With a silent spell, she had incapacitated all four of Orochi's men, and blinded the serpent king himself. While they were still out of it, she grabbed you by the arm, and pulled your to safety. As she did so, you heard the swing of Orochi's scythe as he blindly tried to strike you down.
When the light cleared, Orochi took a moment to stare at the two of you. For a moment, he teetered on the edge of action, but then paused and shook his head.
"You won't be able to resist it forever. And when you give in, then you will need me. I will wait, for a time. Struggle against it if you will, but you cannot." He barked an order to his men, and, stumbling a little, they followed him as he left, shooting daggers from his eyes at you and Himiko as he did so.
When you're sure he's gone, you realise you're in a great deal of pain. Glancing down, you examine yourself for injury, and notice a large number of cuts and scrapes. But at the same time, you notice...
