“No! Please, I’ll pay I just need some more time.” Monty “swift fingers” Goretti pleaded while strapped down on an exam table. Staring at the needle piercing his arm he began to panic following the tubing leading from it. The liquid slowly coming down the line had unknown properties to him but he knew it didn’t bode well for him. His suspicions confirmed with the burning sensation that started with the liquid reaching his veins. His cries of pain drew no pity.
You pay what you owe. That was the basic philosophy Joseph Wallis lived by. You take a loan you pay it back. Monty failed in that duty. Everyone paid Wallis one way or another. He used to sell the bodies of his delinquent payers now he found a more lucrative use for them. As the changes in Monty began a smile formed on Wallis’s face as he watched on a monitor. It didn’t always take but there were a bevy of those who would pay to take a body off his hands. His friend from childhood Harry Thompson stood at his side. A brilliant doctor and scientist who ran afoul of the TFPD. With a call to Noel Mccauley the best attorney he knew. Another to Charles Olson through intermediaries he got the scoop on the case and got some holes put in it. With some evidence turning up missing. Charges got dropped down to a loss of medical license with a plea deal.
Now Harry worked ostensibly as a consultant for one of his businesses but really he continued his work. Any findings Harry would have that could be sold legally one his other employees “discover” in by legal means. Making Joesph much wealthier. Harry didn’t care about credit only the ability to continue his work. That suited Wallis just fine. He supplied the equipment and chemicals necessary.
Harry worried about upsetting Joey with disappointing results. He was grateful for the help with his legal trouble. Then the further obligation of giving him a job and allowing him to work again. He timidly said, “I don’t know how well the programming will would work. There is a twenty percent chance it might fry his mind. I have improved the transmutagen survivability by at least four percent.” He looked up at Joey hoping he wouldn’t be disappointed.
Joseph nodded without turning his, “That is fine. I still want to go forward with the programming. Twenty percent is better odds than I get in Vegas.”
Harry sighed in relief as he pressed a few buttons on his remote to lower the programming helmet onto the subject. He already saw the subjects figure diminishing. With mass building behind the pectorals producing the desired mammaries. The transmutagen could produce many effects not the least of which was gender transmorphing. With the introduction of the proper stimulus a myriad of fascinating results. Blends of humans and whatever the stimuli. On occasion a complete shift could be achieved. Once a human turned into a dog. The human intelligence remained for a few days before instincts seemed to take over. A few times since under questioning the dog was able to comprehend and answer intelligently. Unfortunately, the attempt to turn the subject had ended up putting to much stress on the subjects system and it passed away. The autopsy results came up as a stroke.
With time he hoped to come up with more consistent results. The sweat poured down the subject as the final shifts continued. The crunching and grinding of bones as the subject’s hips widened while his genitals reshaped into her body. The head jerked about as the programming continued. Injecting commands into the core of the subjects mind.
Joseph turned away walking to his office saying, “Let me know the results later. I am going to send over some items to your lab.” Charles Olson of the TFPD had snuck a couple items from a crime scene before they were marked for evidence. He wanted to know if the bargain he got for them would be a score. Harry might be able to make sense of them. Russsell ‘the fox’ Leeds acted as his go between with Olson. Joseph Wallis liked to keep a step between him and the actual criminal activity.
