“Get in Rookie.” Your partner said throwing open the passenger side door of your new squad car.

Today is your first day on the force and your incredibly nervous. Your name is Max Schrader, your 25 and fresh out of training. At the academy you performed well and got excellent marks in both physical and mental exams but deep down you were very nervous about going out on patrol.

It probably had something to do with the area of the city you were assigned. Some guys on the force jokingly called it “The TF Slums.” It was the roughest area of the city stricken with poverty and crime and where people either addicted to cheap TF drugs or were permanently transformed with or against their will and had no where else to go.

The slums were divided into areas mostly by the kinds of transformations you saw there. There was Fantasy Court, mostly filled with people turned into all sorts of mythical style creatures. Animal Avenue, where all sorts of animal changes were located. Lastly Human Street, where you saw human to human changes, mostly things like gender, race, age, and body shape.

These slums were hated by the general public and the cops but currently the only safe haven for those affected the TF crises going on right now. The citizens there had no love of police either and it had become a hotbed of tension in recent years.

Normally Rookies were never sent in to this area but with your scores in the academy and the desperate need for more officers in the area, the chief assigned you to a senior officer as a partner so you could start learning the area and hopefully make some sort of difference here.

Inside your patrol car you saw your partner. He was a grizzled looking older man. With a long mustache and look on his face that showed he had seen way to much in his time.

“My name is Carl Griswold.” He said shaking your hand.

You returned the hand shake a bit nervous as you buckled up and went out on your first day as TFPD Officer.
