20 years old, 5% switch

Hi there. My name is, or rather it was Daniel Johnson. But that was a week ago. Now, well, that's one of a few things I'm still trying to figure out. You see, a week ago I was just your average 26 year old guy. Ok, maybe slightly above average. I had a job that paid me well. A wife who I looked forward to coming home to at the end of each day. Together we lived comfortably in a neighborhood just outside the city I worked in. Life was going great. Maybe to great. You see, I had been following this story the local news station had been reporting on for the last few months about this science group that believed that they had found the secret to being able to swap 2 people's bodies. Most recently, they were talking about testing said machine. that's where my story begins.

The day had started off like so may before it. I woke up before Stacey, my wife, and headed downstairs to make breakfast for the two of us before I left for work. She finished before me and made our lunches, as usual. There was nothing special about work. That is, until I took my lunch break. I had just sat down in the break room with the sandwich that Stacey had made me. I was just about to take a bite when I suddenly blacked out. It had felt like an eternity, but I had later learned that it was only a few minutes.

The next thing I knew, I was waking up sitting at a desk in someone's bedroom in front of a laptop. Not knowing what was going on, and since the laptop was already logged into, I dug around to find out who's it was. I quickly stopped typing though when I heard and felt fingernails hitting every key I was hitting. Slowly looking at my hands, I realized that they weren't mine. They were smaller, with more slender fingers, and longer more neatly kept nails. I quickly found the laptops camera and set it up to find out what was going on. Once it activated, I quickly figured out what happened. Somehow, I managed to find myself in the body of my neighbors 20' year old daughter, Kelsey. I looked at the screen in pure disbelief ( http://sev.h-cdn.co/assets/cm/15/09/54ee... ).

Once I could pry my gaze away from the screen, I quickly scanned the room. From the looks of things, I was now in her bedroom in her parents house. Not knowing what else to to, I slowly stood up and left. I slowly made my way down the stairs, and out the front door. I didn't have anything to worry about in terms of her parents. Her mom was an elementary school teacher and her dad was a captain in the city's police department, so both of them weren't home now. I quickly walked over to my house, feeling completely uncomfortable as I did. I felt like eventually someone was going to point at me and shout that I was some fraud.

I loudly knocked on my front door to get my wife's attention. I could have just barged in, but given my current situation that didn't seem right. After a good minute, Stacey answered the door. "Kelsey, is there something I can do for you?"

"Stacey, something weird is going on. I'm not really Kelsey. I'm really Daniel, your husband"

"Kelsey, are you drunk or something"

"What, no. Stacey, it's really me. Somehow I swapped bodies with our neighbors daughter. I had just sat down in the break room at the office to eat the turkey ham and cheese sandwich you made me for lunch and then I blacked out. When I came to, I was next door in Kelsey's bedroom"

I could tell that I got to her with that last statement. There was no reason that Kelsey would have know what type of sandwich that Stacey had made me for lunch. "Ok" she said. "I've got just one question. Something that only my husband would know. Where were we going for our wedding anniversary this year?"

This was honestly a good question. If I told her any place specific then she'd think I wasn't me because I was keeping it a secret from her. All she knew was it was going to be a special trip that she'd never forget. "You don't even know where we are going to go. I've been keeping it a secret from you"

"Oh, my gosh" she said, realizing I was who I said I was. "Daniel. What, what happened?"

"I have no idea" I said as I followed her inside and closed the door behind me. I mean one minute I'm about to eat lunch and the next." I was interrupted by a cellphone ringtone. Looking around, I realized the sound was coming from the pocket of the jeans I was now wearing. Pulling the phone out, I quickly recognized my own phone number and answered, while placing the phone on speaker. "Hello. Kelsey, is that you?"

"Yeah, yeah it's me" we heard my voice say. "What's going on?"

"We don't know. Listen, come over here and we'll try and figure all this out. I'll shoot my bosses an email saying that I have come down with something and need to head home"

"Ok, will do. Just one question. Where did you park?"

"3rd floor of the parking garage across the street. Right next to the elevator. My keys should be in your pocket"

"Yeah, there here. Ok, I'll get there as soon as I can"
