As the knight raises his hand you fall silent, staring down at the floor, as suddenly a scroll hits the floor in front of you.
Staring at it before you take it with trembling hands and slowly read the first words "Con..scri..ption..."
Fearfully you slowly stand up offering the scroll the knight to take it again.
"You seem like a hard worker boy!", the knights voice booms from beneath his steel helmet, "I'm sure you will do good in the kings infantry. Go to the town of Montza and meet the Castellan in the fortress over the city, tell him Sir Tristan send you." With that he puts away the scroll and rides down the field, disappearing behind the next group of trees.
Can you just leave? Your father would be alone...and the field work...you sigh...you nearly finished with seeding...and the king calls...the king...
