There are always opportunities for a plucky adventurer to make fame and fortune. The world is built on the ruins of a thousand past civilizations, mighty empires that rose and fell, their buried cities layered deep in the earth, their ancient temples lost out in the vast wilderness, their treasures and knowledge waiting to be rediscovered by any individual willing to risk everything for it.

There are always wars that need warriors, towns in need of a defender, lords and merchants willing to pay handsomely for protection on the remote, dangerous roads.
