Chapter #7

A Strange Bug

    by: AWritingMule Author IconMail Icon
Miranda unknowingly met the gaze of the tiny speck before her, looking over him for a moment before she deemed the speck to just be a regular old bug. Sure it was an odd one, but it was still a bug. With a sigh she pinched it up between her fingers and began to move the 'bug' over to her jar.

------

Scott looked up at her with wide eyes, freezing up in the moment of the enormous being staring down at him. Had she seen him? Had she not? His question seemed to be answered as the enormous hand drew near. He went cold as the large fingers pushed against either side. Any more pressure and he felt like he'd explode.

The ground rapidly pulled away from him, the large fingers quickly lifting him up. He looked around frantically, eyes passing over Miranda's face a few times (her expression was largely uncaring) before he looked down.

Big mistake. Below him was her large bag, filled almost entirely with packets of what he assumed were cookies. Much more alarming was the jar directly below him, crawling with bugs that rivaled him in size. He fruitlessly tried to squirm in her firm grip, eyes wide as she lowered him into the container.

------

Miranda lowered the speck to the rim of the jar, before dropping him in. She just managed to screw on the lid (complete with air holes), before a voice pulled her out of her task.

"Miranda? What are you doing?" It was the mother of the house, the one she'd just sold cookies to.

"I'm sorry Miss Anderson," She stood, pushing a packet over her jar. A smile crossed her face, "I tripped and dropped all my cookies, I'm such a klutz,"

Looking back at her, the girl scout was happy to see her nod and return to her home, she'd gotten off free with her little toys. The young girl skipped away from the house without a care in the world.

You have the following choices:

1. Follow Scott and his bug filled jar prison.

*Noteb*
2. Follow Miranda as she sells more cookies on her way home.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
