The thunderous conversation of the giants continues. "I'll play with her first. You'll get a turn when I'm done with her," says the giant. As the deafening feminine voice responds "Don't break her. I want my toys in one piece and with some life in them," Catherine hides behind the stone wall as the tower shakes from the tremors of giant footsteps. She pants, trying to calm her heart. She has never been this afraid before, but she consoles herself with a revelation. She can escape down the tower. They may think she would be here always, she can sneak off into the lower parts of the castle. And with an entire army loyal to her every dictation, what does she have to fear?
Suddenly, the tower rocks from side to side. Decorations fall off the walls, dancing with the same rhythm. Catherine claws her way along the wall but as the rug slips beneath her, she has no control but to slide into the middle of the room. The shaking stops, followed by some clacking, like parts of the stone wall have come apart. A shadow descends over her and a massive eye fills the window. It backs away to show the face of the muscular scantly-clad giant. "I am Solas and you are my toy!" He must have ripped Catherine's bedroom tower from the castle itself and now tips it on its side, letting the tiny princess fall into his open palm.
Solas looks down at his new prize as he lets go of the castle piece, making it shatter and crumble as it lands at his feet. What awaits the princess?
