You are going about your daily life. Currently you are driving home after a hard day. The traffic is backed up, but you don’t really mind, you’re just relieved to almost be home where you can relax and chill out for a while. The radio channel you’re listening to suddenly goes fuzzy. After a moment of static the fuzz is replaced by a serious sounding voice “Attention. This is an emergency broadcast. Attention. this is an emergency broadcast. A large unidentified object has landed just south of this area. It is believed to be some sort of extraterrestrial craft. It is advised that all civilians seek shelter immediately. Please remain calm. We have no reason to believe this is somehow a danger to us. Attention. This is an emergency broadcast. Attention. This is an.” Then the message went on to repeat itself.
‘This can’t be real’, you think to yourself. ‘No, this has got to be some sort of stupid joke’. You change the channel, but it is all just the same message repeating itself. ‘Someone just hacked the radio frequencies or something, that’s got to be it, just some asshole.’ You convince yourself this isn’t serious, even if there lingers some doubt in the back of your mind. ‘I’m heading home anyway, just as it advises so, I mean even if it is, Augh, this is stupid, just some stupid joke.
