This choice: Her reversal spell simply doesn't work • Go Back...Chapter #5Her reversal spell simply doesn't work by: Kooplan Zelda shook her head, disappointed with her students for their unruly behavior. Inwardly though, she knew she had nobody but herself to blame for getting into this mess. She'd traded in her height and control for a chance at pleasing the children, but now as the kids continued to amuse themselves with her puny size, she realized that doing so was a mistake.
They'd best be prepared for scolding once I'm big again! Zelda thought as she prepared to grow herself back to normal.
The tiny princess focused on the spell of growth, like she had many times before in practice for today. However, this time, Zelda felt odd. The spell was prepared, but nothing happened!
"Wh-What is this!?" Zelda squeaked in horror.
Before Zelda could even begin to think of what the problem could be, a giant hand suddenly swooped down and grabbed her. The mini princess screamed as she was carried up into the air, taking her for a wild ride for a few seconds before she was stopped abruptly right in front of one of the kid's faces, her captor, a young girl.
"Stop it!" The girl cried, raising her free hand up palm-forward to deter the rest of the children from messing with the princess.
Princess Zelda looked up and saw that her captor was a little girl with short brown hair, and wearing a pink dress. Zelda smiled as she recognized the girl as Carrie, a prodigal student of hers. Carrie always treated Zelda so sweetly and kindly, and always listened intently to her lessons. It wasn't a stretch to say that Carrie was among Zelda's favorite students, and was by far the most adept in the ways of magic.
"Thank you, dear!" Zelda squeaked from the girl's hand, gasping through her words as, although Carrie was trying to help, the little girl was holding the shrunken princess a little too tightly by accident.
"Your welcome, miss Zelda." Carrie smiled down at the puny princess.
"W-Would you mind to let me down on my desk, please?" Zelda asked. As much as she appreciated Carrie's help, the innocent girl had her in all but a choke hold right now, and even had her arms and legs tightly squeezed.
Carrie nodded and went over to the desk, which was neatly arranged with books, pencils, rulers, and all sorts of teacher's tools on it. Carrie then somewhat carelessly dropped Zelda onto the desktop, like one might toss an unwanted toy. Zelda groaned from the rolling toss, but didn't want to say anything about it, yet.
"Alright, kids. Stay there and let me work out the reversal spell." Zelda said, collecting herself and brushing off her dress. The class did as they were told, having calmed down thanks in part to Carrie's actions. They watched quietly as their doll-like princess moved around the desk, inspecting the various objects on it that were now almost all bigger than her whole miniature body. In particular, Zelda was interested in the ruler she had on it.
"Carrie, would you mind holding that up for me? I'd like to see how small I am now." Zelda told her trusted student.
"Okay..." Carrie said. She grabbed the ruler and held it up straight. Zelda stood next to it and looked to her side to see that her head was aligned with the 5-inch mark. "Five inches, ma'am." Carrie informed Zelda, and everyone.
The class burst out laughing once more upon hearing how small Princess Zelda had made herself. Most of them knew how big their favorite toys were, and they now knew that Zelda was even smaller than most of those! Zelda blushed in embarrassment, she knew she was tiny, but now she felt even smaller than before. Carrie looked between the embarrassed Princess and the other kids, and started to get upset that they were making Zelda all red faced.
"Hey! Stop it!" Carrie yelled at the other kids.
"No, it's alright, Carrie." Zelda told her giant protector. Carrie looked down at Zelda, almost teary-eyed from how bad she felt for the shrunken princess. "Thank you for helping me!" Zelda said. Carrie smiled.
Zelda then walked across the desk to some books that she'd brought in earlier. The shrunken blonde knew she'd be performing the size-changing spells today for the kids, and she'd practiced intently in the week before, but she still brought in the books detailing just how to perform the magic just in case. If the spell wasn't working for her now, then she'd need to do a little research to figure out just why that was. In a worst case scenario, Zelda also knew that she might be requiring Carrie to help her by having the little girl perform the growth spell on her, just in case she wasn't able to get it to work.
"Can you open this book, please, sweetie?" Zelda asked warmly. Carrie smiled and nodded, and did as she was asked to.
Zelda wasted no time in having Carrie flip through the pages for her to find the size-changing spells again. Once she did, Zelda hopped on the book and read through it thoroughly, twice even, to make sure she got everything just right for her return to normal-sized heights.
"Okay..." Zelda gulped, thinking about how to best proceed with the magic. "Here goes..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
