Kari was debating how to get a tan on her underside as well when all of a sudden she noticed a v shaped wake approaching the shore. "Great." She muttered dryly "Somebody just has to make a scene."
Kari turned to her admirers "Best stand back boys. Odds are whoever it is wouldn't be sneaking up if they were friendly." She moved cautiously towards the beach, but not too close, Drider's weren't exactly water creatures and whatever it was could probably put some hurt on her if she was pulled in.
Suddenly and with much fanfare a a giant womans upper body erupted from the water. "Great. A giant mermaid show off." She looked at the newcomer a blonde woman with an impressive bust, covered by a giant bathing suit top by the looks of it.
"Dinner is ser.....HEY! Where'd everybody go!" the woman yelled. She looked right at Kari. "Alright spider butt, what's the big deal ruining my fun? You saw me coming and warned them didn't you?"
"This area's our area lady! We've got a good thing going on an you aren't about to ruin it for us." Kari shot back.
"Really? Guess I'll have to pick on you then big butt." the woman grinned.
"Always with the abdomen jokes...." she sighed "Look lady I don't know if you noticed, but fins don't work so well on land. So unless you want to slowly wiggle your way over here how about you turn your tail and swim out of here! Before my "big butt" brews up a fishing net to hang you out to dry!"
The woman grinned. "Who said anything about a tail...." she said slyly as 8 octopus tentacles emerged from the water around her. "I think you'll find I can move on land just fine."
"....huh. Not a mermaid." Kari muttered nervously.
