After setting a new record for the shortest amount of time ever spent packing, you both hopped aboard a flight to Florida. It was a relatively uneventful flight, you both enjoyed a decent movie and ended up falling asleep for the majority of the flight. After the plane landed, you both exited and rode a bus to the Bizney World Resort, where your room awaited at the very top.
"Well... here we are!" Mom nervously held up the card key to the corresponding door. "Let's see what our room looks like!"
Unlocking the door, she pushed it open and you both entered, eyes widening at the sheer magnificence of it all.
"Wow! Look at this room, it's massive!" Your mom exclaimed, arms open wide as she walks in. Far bigger on the inside than you could have ever predicted, this entire hotel room could be easily mistaken for some rich upper-crust family's summer home. Despite being a hotel room, they appeared to be in some sort of living room area with luxurious furniture such as oak coffee tables, high-quality upholstery, an extremely soft looking love-seat, and an extra wide, home cinema line version of those iMAX televisions.
It was opulent, over-the-top, and felt like it was designed to house a queen. It was perfect.
As your mother excitedly pointed out the beautiful and intricate patterns covering the love-seat's fabric, you couldn't help but think that there was probably no other person who deserved this more than she. Hard-working, kind, and generous to a fault, she was an over-worked and under-appreciated woman who deserved to be pampered for a change. And now it was finally happening, all thanks to this wonderful, weird, little ring...
Having turned your attention to the ring momentarily to examine it, your mother wandered further into the room and suddenly let out a small gasp of surprise.
"Oh my...honey, there's even more here than I thought!" She called out, excitedly pointing to something previously hidden by the furniture. Curiously walking over to see what else this resort could possibly hold, a fully stocked kitchen comes into view with a massive refrigerator and cooking area with all the latest utensils.
"I didn't even know they made refrigerators this size." You commented, somewhat dumbstruck as your mom opens the fridge and checks what's inside. Just like the apartment itself, the refrigerator was even bigger on the inside than it appeared. Rows upon rows of every sort of ingredient and food you could imagine, it was like they had somehow fit the entirety of a grocery store within. Pulling out a red bell-pepper in curiosity from a shelf housing all manner of peppers, your mom's eyes glance about before catching something in particular. Quickly placing the pepper back, she excitedly bends over (giving you a somewhat awkward view of her voluptuous derriere) and pulls out an unfamiliar item.
"Oh my gosh...I can't believe that they have this..." She states in pure amazement as she stands up and turns around. In her hands is some sort of small plastic tub with a picture of a winking cow. "It's...it's, Moo-N Bars!"
"Moo-N Bars?" You repeat, unsure of what exactly she is so excited about.
"Moo-N Bars! They're this type of frozen desert, delicious creamy marshmallow wrapped in fried dough and drizzled with chocolate...Mmm." Her voice trailed off as she seemed to suddenly become lost in thought, as if some sort of extremely pleasant vision had overtaken her senses. Watching her lick her lips unconsciously, you awkwardly tried to bring her back from her fantasy.
"Uh...Mom?" Snapping your fingers gingerly, she blinks and seemingly snaps out of her trance as she looks at you, almost as if she wasn't expecting to see you there.
"Oh! Sorry, I guess my mind just sort of wandered off there for a second." Straightening her bangs in embarrassment, she continues.
"Anyways...I used to eat them when I was a little girl but my parents eventually stopped buying them, said that they weren't healthy for me." Her face gained a surly scowl as she remembered how upset she was when her parents told her the news. "Shortly after, the company that made them went bankrupt and stores stopped selling them, I thought I'd never see them again..."
"Well, why don't you try one...see if it's as good as you remember?" You offer, watching as your mom nervously drums the top the plastic tub.
"I...I really would love to, I mean it...but I probably shouldn't, I don't think I could afford whatever the charge is are for eating from this fridge." She explained, reluctantly preparing to put the tub back...
