Rena sighed, a glum look on her face as she flipped a page in the comic with a clawed hand. Rena was no reed but she was far from what she thought to be an hourglass. Her body probably had more burliness to it than most girls-human and demi-human-her age, muscle scattered evenly all over her body making her clothes feel tight against her fur. Rena's chest was like an iron board, strong durable and able to hold up a decent amount of weight if her chest wasn't just that, a board. Her butt, in comparison, was not big by any standard but it had far more jiggle to it, putting slight strain on her jeans and cat tail. At 5'10", Rena could be promptly described as the poster girl for 'Tomboys inc. Masculine girls or your money back'. That, of course, didn’t do her any favors in high school that’s for sure.
“Nope, don’t go there.” Rena said bringing her hands up to slap her cheeks hard. She closed her comic book and did what any good counter attendant did; look idly around the shop to see if anybody is willing to buy anything. Rena stood behind the counter in the right corner, the register to her left, a display case underneath the counter and more comic books behind her alongside a door where her boss was taking inventory. Light shining from large windows spread over shelves filled with comic books from almost every known and unknown company. The shelves lined the blue walls around the shop; a few stand alone shelves in the back left corner of the room. That left a lot of open space for a purple fluffy carpet and several bean bag chairs of various colors.
Most of the chairs were occupied by “readers”, would-be customers that read books without buying them. Rena snorted. ‘Like I can talk.’ she thought, smiling to herself. She herself spent a lot of time reading comic books between customers. On slow days like this one, she would sometimes she forget where she was and read some of the merchandise herself. Despite all the “readers” though, business was actually pretty steady; they made ends meet and even had a bit of surplus by the end of the month. So no she really couldn’t complain. She heard the door bell ring, and turned idly to see a new potential customer…and she felt time almost stop as she stared.
Standing halfway through entrance was probably the most attractive female Rena had ever seen. No, she is the most attractive female she had ever seen. Her olive skin was smooth and glamorous; her wavy black hair was thick and flowing down her back and over each shoulder. She wore a silky white blouse over her endowed chest which was not too voluminous to be slutty but not too small to not attract attention. Her pants held a similarly blessed butt in check along with a wide hip she would call ‘child-worthy’. Rena couldn’t help but think she was witnessing the pure embodiment that was the female body. She was more than perfect, she was perfection itself.
Time began to flow again as she walked through door and wandered to a nearby shelf. Rena could have sworn she heard choirs of angels sing with each jiggle of her butt and each bounce of her boobs. She didn’t question who this woman was or why she was in a comic book store of all places. She merely watched, helpless to this woman’s beauty, as the woman picked up a comic book-Batman Origins: Issue 1-and skimmed through the first few pages. Deciding that she wanted it, she closed it and turned two cool gray eyes toward her. Rena’s spine shivered under the woman’s scrutiny and she had to look away. When she looked up again the woman was so close she could’ve reached out and touched her. She almost did when heard the most unearthly sound she would ever hear.
“How much for this?” the woman said. Her voice was no single sound but an entire symphony of voices singing acapella softly through her ears. It was so beautiful she felt her eyes water from just the sound of it. So enamored by the woman’s voice she forgot she was asked a question.
“Oh…it’s uh…that’s uh…” she stammered as she fiddled with the register trying to find how much the item cost. It was a few minutes before she remembered she could just scan comic book to find the price. Blushing heavily beneath her fur, she picked up the price reader and scanned the book for the price.
“Um…That’s $18.86” she managed to say. The woman smiled a glorious smile with teeth so white they glowed. She pulled a wallet out of her right pocket and took out $20.00.
Rena took it from her and was going give back her change when she asked, “Have you read this before?” Again the symphony of echoes hit her ears. So lovingly her voice caressed Rena’s ears, she almost had a sound orgasm.
She blushed again. “Yeah, I read it and next 10 issues as well.” She said, more than a little pride sneaking into her voice.
The woman giggled, a plethora of small baby animal sounds couldn’t have been more adorable. “You must like superhero books a lot.”
Still blushing, Rena nodded as she took the woman’s change from the register. “I wish I could become a superhero like Valkyrie. But I don’t think that’s going to happen.” Her eyes involuntarily glanced at her chest.
The woman smiled again, shivers so intense went up her spine that she had to look away lest she faint. “There’s more to being a hero than just having the right amount of cleavage. You might learn that someday.” she said, holding out her hand for her change. Just as Rena was about to drop the change into the woman’s hand, the woman grabbed her. Rena was not attracted to girls, but she knew that had she been a lesbian or bisexual, the second she touched the woman’s milky soft hand she would have orgasmed and fainted. The woman’s hand felt better than they looked; it felt like God put fluff from his own pillow into that woman’s hands. She stood there for more than a few minutes before she noticed that the woman wasn’t holding her hand anymore. She also noticed that there was something in her right hand. She looked down to see a strange metal, shaped into a infinity symbol but with two sharp hooks on both sides curved towards the middle and almost forming a circle.
“Um…is this yours?” Rena asked the beautiful women.
Again the women smiled. “Think of it as a gift.” Rena was about to ask what she meant when the metal started to sear her skin. She screamed try to fling the object away but it unnaturally stuck to her skin only getting hotter and hotter. The smell of burnt fur and cooked meat reached her nose as her knees buckled underneath her and she fell to the floor squirming. Pain flooded her senses, her entire existence was pain and she could feel nothing else. She screamed and screamed and screamed until she couldn’t take it anymore. The last thing she saw as her hand burned away to nothing was the woman’s face absent of all emotion except sadness; and sadness was beautiful.
