The make-up department is responsible for morphing and modifying actors and actresses before (or even during) their shoots, according to the requirements of the directors, no matter how outlandish. Their methods range from mundane surgical procedures to more fringe science and even magic. They have a plastic surgeon on staff and a costume department complete with racks of bodysuits of all types. The recent acquisition of the fabled Wand of Change has the potential to make the entire department redundant, but the instability of the magic it produces and the potential for irreversible changes means that the Wand is used only when necessary.
At the end of shooting, the make-up department is expected to return all actors to their original bodies and forms, whole and unharmed, unless specified. Occasionally they may remain in their altered forms for promotional purposes.
