The wound heals, leaving a finger stump

As the two of you watch, your girlfriends finger stump quickly heals itself, leaving a patch of fresh new skin, free of scars. The two of you watch a few more minutes, wondering whether or not Sarah's finger will grow back or not, but it doesn't happen.

"Huh, well, looks like you can't regrow body parts, not yet at least." Sarah says, rubbing the stump of her severed index finger.

"I guess not. You want me to go ahead and reattach your original finger now?" you ask.

"Yea, you probably should, I don't want to have to explain to anyone how I lost it." Sarah replies.

"Alright, just hold still for a moment." you instruct, pressing your girlfriends disembodied finger to her stump and kissing where the two surfaces touch one another. After a moment__________________?
