Due to your family's wealth, you're used to having the best of everything the cluster has to offer, pretty much getting everything handed to you on a silver platter without having to expend the least bit of effort to obtain it. Unsurprisingly, this has mad you into, not to put to fine a point on it, a spoiled, selfish, self centered brat, something that's only become worse in the last few years since your father left her, simply vanishing one day without apology or explanation, leaving the family fortune virtually untouched. The divorce papers had come latter, in the mail, but not before weeks of pain and worry on the part of you and your mother, and neither of you had seen or heard from your father since. You're mother has since then devoted virtually all her time and attention to you, practically smothering you with affection, giving you whatever you ask for without question, letting you get away with practically anything in her efforts to "please her baby boy" as she calls you and keep you from leaving her like your father did. Currently, you and your mother were sitting across from each other at the diner table, she dressed in an expensive an elaborate evening dress, picking daintily at her food, you sitting across from her, muddy shoes propped up on the table, a messy burger in one hand, phone in the other, all but ignoring her as you click away. That is until your mother says something that catches your attention.
"Um, Alex honey?" your mom says uncertainly, causing you to glare daggers at her for interrupting what it is you were doing.
"What is it now Mom?!" you ask in exasperation, adopting your best put upon expression.
She flinches a bit under your glare, before stammering "I-I'm sorry to bother you, but, I was just wondering,_____________________________?  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
