"He's telling the truth. Objects and people are changing size spontaneously" The two students insist that what you claimed was true all along.
You smugly smiled at the baffled Professor Keens as he realises your familiar face in his lectures.
"This is bad. We did not expect the target to be the whole town! Hurry we have to fix this! Jake, you come too." The four of you quickly rush to the aerospace lab, finding a multiple screens showing satellite images of familiar houses you've seen in your neighbourhood.
You ask one of the students on what the team was working on. He mentioned something about their launched satellite that is able to manipulate size of an object from space. Initial tests showed it reduces or increases an object's size slightly. They were hoping to shrink the size of trash cluttering around Earth's orbit but did not expect the device's new intensity.
The professor interrupts, he says the satellite is shooting at random bursts and location, growing or shrinking anyone or anything it aims at. "It's gone haywire" He exclaims.
Vigorously typing on the keyboard, the professor rushes to terminate every upcoming tasks, halting its antics. A red popup screen prompts up indicating the professor's commands were denied.
Seeing how the satellite increased its shooting rate. With a deep breath, you shouted "Shut it down!". The professor obeys, disconnecting the signal transmitter from its power source.
The beam shooting out of the satellite stop. Everybody takes in a deep breath of relief. The professor thanks you for your quick thought while he was stuck in the moment.
Now that was out of the way, you jokingly asked now how's everyone going to return back to normal. Realising you're still a midget, the professor fumbles on the thought before the screen prompts a warning. HIGH AMOUNTS OF ENERGY ACCUMULATED, DISPERSING! DISPERSING!
Professor Keens runs to the screen, typing anything to stop the task! "It's going to shoot a huge burst of energy and we don't know where it'll land. Anyone or anything hit with it is going to grow bigger than anything we've seen outside!"
The screen shows the satellite charging up its final and biggest shot. "Do you know where it'll land?" You ask. The professor stutters not knowing the exact location of the target. The satellite disperses a huge beam pointing to the Earth.
As it reaches, the bright light emitting from the beam envelops the whole town. Everybody covers their face until the light faded out.
"We need to find the location of the target, scan the whole town map!" The students follow the professor's order. "The target should be growing by now. We have to track their location and prevent any further panic!" He states.
"Screw this, this thing's going to be big enough for whole town to see!" You run out the building to the outside. You see a couple of students running away from a bear-sized ant as it was stomped by a giant sneaker.
You follow the foot up seeing it connecting a pair of denim jeans, an unzipped varsity jacket, and a familiar face. The giant being none other than Tyler, one of the key players in your college's football team.
The students shouted at him, telling that he could have given a warning first. Tyler, being a gentle giant, even before he was grown, rubs the back of his head and apologising his sudden action.
An earthquake booms, shaking the ground and everyone off their feet, even the gentle giant himself. Arching his body, Tyler covers the students and prevented himself from landing on them.
As it settles, you ran to Tyler introducing yourself and asking for his help to find the cause of the earthquake. He agrees as you hop onto his palm and brought up to his height, giving a vantage view of the town.
You and Tyler look around for the biggest thing among the sea of giants around the town. They were all finding the cause of the earthquake too. A giantess shouts and points to your left. Everybody could be heard screaming and commenting about the enormity of this thing.
You turn around to see that this enourmous turned out to be..... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
