Aela, the Mermaid Queen is both curious and adventurous, so she one day decides to explore outside of her kingdom. Residing in the South Western Ocean. The waters are blue and clear, making it easy to see below the surface. It is mid-afternoon and there is a slight storm brewing on the horizon. Luckily there's a small island further to the East. Making her way towards the small island, it is now late afternoon. On the horizon she can see the lightning from the storm flashing, and it is getting more intense.
She then notices the strange structure that seems to be one of the island's trees. It is growing downwards, towards the sea, instead of upwards. As she look up, she is surprised to see the structure on the tree's branches! With the given rain, she decides to make her way to the tree house. It is made of wood and leaves, and built in the tree by a mysterious person. It is also the only shelter you've seen in your entire journey so far. The rain then goes away and the sun is setting.
Exploring the island even further she finds a small pond with water lilies and frogs. There is a waterfall that is feeding the pond, and a cave nearby. The island has a lot of water, giving her water to rehydrate, since she could only last out the water in an hour. Then, she spots a stranger, and he also spots her. He quickly runs away. Using her mermaid strength and speed, she drags her way toward the stranger, curious about his motives.
Thanks to the wet ground, she manages to grab the stranger, and pull him back towards her. He seems distressed and surprised. He's also quite young. He is a beautiful young human male about her age. In an attempt to get out of her grasp, he reaches into his bag and pulls out a dagger, with a glowing green edge. This surprises her but assures him that she's no threat.
"Kind sir, I am merely not a threat. I wish to know why you are in my Kingdom's territory."
The human seems confused that you've managed to speak in his language. He responds.
"Um, I was out sailing when a storm blew in- my boat capsized and I ended up on this island."
Aela respond to his claims.
"You are stranded in this island then? Where do you hail from then?"
He responds.
"I'm from a small village called Gladesmore. I've never been outside the village before. I was planning to go to the big city and find a proper job to support my parents, when this all happened."
Feeling sympathetic for the young man, she decides to help him, although not being aware of any places called Gladesmore, she then notices that he was looking at the cave.
"Are you currently residing in that cave?"
He responds, with a slightly nervous tone.
"I was in the cave, but the inside is a lot different than what you see outside. It looks like a beautiful forest in there, but I don't want to go back- there are strange things living inside. I'm scared, and I don't know what to do."   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
